In a new interview, Robert talks about his past and future roles, Hollywood and weird interview questions:

Misfits made your name. Was it hard to say goodbye to your character Nathan after only two series?

I was immensely grateful for Misfits. We were young actors and were really whipped into shape. We had no idea what we were making. We were just down in Thamesmead getting weird looks from the locals. But I had a great time and there were lots of interesting offers going on. It sounds odd but it never felt like there was any kind of risk in leaving. I thought I’d just go off and do something else.

[…] For upcoming film The Road Within you play a man with Tourette’s syndrome. How big a change of mood is that?

It was the most difficult thing I’ve had to prepare for. I was desperate to get it right and I’ve been practising all the tics and things for ages. To misrepresent people with that condition would be a crying shame. It would have broken my heart. Here’s hoping I pulled it off.

In a TMI set interview, Robert talks about portraying Simon Lewis:

I think he’s the only normal perspective in a world full of magical people, including Clary, everyone is magical in some way and he is essentially the only normal guy in the script and I think that’s very important in the script because you go off the deep end quite quickly and magically and it’s nice to have a normal guy perspective on everything.

He also talked about Misfits:

Misfits wasn’t sci-fi, Misfits was the odd brain child of a great strange man called Howard Overman who thought of the weirdest stuff you could possibly think and put it in a T.V. show and that’s what Misfits became. It was important to him and the show as well but that show always worked without the powers just about some people having a dysfunctional life and the powers almost became the manifestation of insecurities.

A Misfits movie anyone? Iwan Rheon (who played the slightly odd Simon in the first three series alongside Robert Sheehan) has hinted at the very real possibility.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Rheon said: “I think I’d be an idiot not to do it… I think it’d be a really fun thing to go back and revisit, because obviously I feel so much love for Misfits and gratitude to them and those guys at Clerkenwell Films and E4, and how they gave me such a huge opportunity and gave me a lot of really challenging stuff to do while I was there. So yeah, if I get the opportunity, I’d love to…. In a way, I do still feel like it never really got finished. I thought the Simon storyline in the third series was quite rushed and you didn’t really get to see enough of it, for various reasons.

“I think it might happen. I think it’s quite likely that it will happen, yeah, if they can get everyone together to do it.”

One question remains, will Robert Sheehan be returning too? ‘Cause if not, we’re not overly enthused.
